EDU 3170 CBE: Assessment of Learning: Project 2

Project 2 Competency and Sub-Competencies

Project Competency: Can create formative and summative assessments which are based on measurable learning objectives and include accommodations to meet the learning needs of specific students.

Sub-Competencies:

  1. Identifies adequately constructed instructional objectives.
  2. States instructional objectives as intended learning outcomes.
  3. Understands the technical aspects of evaluation instruments and their role in the construction, selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of tests.
  4. Understands necessary and desirable accommodations to be made in testing/evaluating students with disabilities.
  5. Evaluates the quality of test items and other assessment tools.
  6. Constructs test items which appropriately measure stated learning outcomes. 
  7. Designs a classroom test complete with directions and scoring key.
  8. Interprets pupil test data.

Deliverable: For this project, you will develop two formative assessments and a 10-item summative assessment for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade content area standard, using selected response, constructed response, and performance assessment items. Additionally, you will create an answer key of correct and potential answers for the 10-item assessment. NOTE: This test will be administered and the results will be analyzed in Fieldwork #3.
