EDU 3230 CBE: Teaching Social Studies: Project 2

Project Competency: Can design integrated units of study that apply developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive methods for social studies instruction and assessment.

Sub-Competencies:

• Students will develop integrated and interdisciplinary units of study.
• Students will create experiences that will facilitate the students’ development of critical thinking, problem solving, inquiry and independent learning skills.
• Students will explain and use assessment procedures that facilitate student learning.

Deliverable:

• edTPA Context for Learning for your classroom
• Two-week unit plan that integrates social studies and at least one other content area that promotes critical thinking, problem solving, inquiry and independent learning skills.
• Defense of unit plan.
