TEP (Elementary) Entry and Exit: Program Exit Testing: Pearson/Praxis II

This guide is meant to educate and inform students on the process to be admitted to Teacher Education Program (TEP) as a teacher licensure candidate. This guide also provides information on graduating and exiting the program to become a licensed teacher.

Pearson Test for Licensure

As soon as you have been admitted to the TEP, you should begin exploring and preparing for your licensure exams. The SOE offers support for all three tests, at no charge to admitted students. Additionally, content from your methods coursework (i.e., EDU 3310, 3400, and 3410) will help you to prepare for the Foundations of Reading Development test.

STUDENTS MUST PASS ALL LICENSURE EXAMS BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO STUDENT TEACH.

Learn about and prepare for your licensure exams using the tools below.

Pearson Foundations of Reading

  • Our EDU courses help students prepare for this portion of the test, so don't plan to take it until you have finished all three literacy courses (EDU 3310, 3400, and 3410). Mrs. Kia Eason can assist with this test, too. (See contact info below.)
  • Use the practice tests, especially the answer analyses, to help you study. Students who have done well say these practice tests were a big help.
  • Complete the NCSU Pearson PD modules (FREE). Create an account and do the NCPD Moodles (10 hrs)
