Welcome to the OERevolution at NCCU

Welcome to the Criminal Justice OER LibGuide! Open educational resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and repurposing. This OER LibGuide was curated to provide Criminal Justice faculty, staff, and students with affordable learning solutions, which support success by improving students' day-one readiness, engagement and learning outcomes. It is also a means of reducing the cost of education by reducing the costs associated with expensive textbooks. This is a robust collection of open textbooks, videos, articles, full online courses and other material developed by faculty and other educators across the nation. Funding for this project, Promoting Affordable Learning for Student Success (PALSS), was provided by a 2017 Innovation Grant from the Office of the Provost and with the assistance of the staff of the Shepard Library.

OER Commons OER database that allows you to search, browse, and gain access to curated collections of learning materials.
MERLOT II The MERLOT collection consists of tens of thousands of discipline-specific learning materials, learning exercises, and Content Builder webpages, together with associated comments, and bookmark collections, all intended to enhance the teaching experience of using a learning material. All of these items have been contributed by the MERLOT member community, who have either authored the materials themselves, or who have discovered the materials, found them useful, and wished to share their enthusiasm for the materials with others in the teaching and learning community.
Open Textbook Library Open textbooks are textbooks that have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed.
