EDU 3310 CBE: Foundations of Literacy Assessment and Instruction: Project 2

Competency 2: Implement authentic literacy assessments that are appropriate for students in an elementary classroom.

Sub-competencies:

• Candidates will observe and reflect on literacy environments, assessment, and instruction at the K-2 and 3-5 grade levels.
• Candidates will assess students’ affective, local, global, and writing performance at the proficient level.

Project Deliverables
After observing literacy blocks at both the K-2 and 3-5 levels, complete a Literacy Environment Checklist for classrooms at two different grade levels. Then, choose ONE grade level to complete a battery of assessment measures related to reading attitude, early literacy skills, reading behaviors, and writing, for ONE student. Once you have completed the measures, score each one and provide your results.
