Project 1 Competency and Sub-Competencies

Project Competency: Can create learning materials, activities, and lesson plans for the K-6 classroom that integrate the arts into other curricular areas.

Sub-Competencies:

  1. Can demonstrate the use of appropriate instructional strategies in visual art, music, drama, and dance education.
  2. Can develop and use a variety of instructional methodologies to facilitate various learning styles.
  3. Can assist students in acquiring and using visual art, music, drama, and dance concepts in an integrated manner.

Deliverable:

 

  1. 2-3-page paper on your learning styles
  2. Handout on instructional strategies for the arts
  3. Two lesson plans (one for K-2, one for 3-5) that integrates the arts into core curricula areas
